This week, in our Meet the Team series, we sat down to speak to Centre Manager of Business First’s head office in Padiham, Caroline Djali, to find out a little bit more about who she is and what she does at Business First and beyond.
As always, we asked some serious questions, and some pretty daft ones, too…
What’s your full name and job title?
“Caroline Djali, I’m the business centre manager at Group First House, Business First’s head office.”
Before working here, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’d had?
“I used to coordinate events and weddings at a hotel.”
What three words do you think best describe you?
“Fun, scary and slightly crazy.”
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever had to do here?
“Too many weird things have happened to even try and pick just one!”
What’s your favourite film?
“Beauty and the Beast – it’s sad, I know.”
What’s your proudest moment at Business First?
“Getting the building from 23% occupancy to 100% occupancy!”
What is an interesting, random fact about yourself?
“I got a tattoo on my back when I was 14. I still have it, and it’s awful!”
Do you have a work nickname?
“Caz. Or Stress-head.”
What’s your most embarrassing moment at work?
“Ripping the seam on my dress… on numerous occasions. I’ve also fallen over in front of loads of people… again, on numerous occasions.”
What’s your favourite place to travel to?
How do you define success?
“When I’m sitting in my mansion, on a hill in the middle of nowhere, with my boys – whilst not having to do a lot and everything runs smoothly. That’s when I’ll consider myself successful.”
If you could be any person in history for a day, who would it be and why?
“I’d probably go for Queen Cleopatra, the whole Egyptian thing looks fun!”
If you could only drink one drink for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
“Any sort of cocktail, really. If it’s the only thing I can drink for the rest of my life, it’s going to have to be alcoholic!”
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
“I don’t really have a favourite food. Just anything tasty.”
If you could be an animal for a day, what animal would you be and why?
“I’d have to be a lion. It’s the king of the jungle, isn’t it?”
If you were stuck on an island and could only take three things, what would they be and why?
“My Dad – he’d be the one person I would trust to keep me alive for the longest, shower gel, and my phone. A strange combination, I know.”
Tell us something about yourself that people would be surprised to know
“I had twin boys at the age of 18.”
Tell us a little about your family
“I have twin boys, Callum and Lewis, who are 8 years old. They’re a pair of little monkeys.”
What’s your favourite TV show?
“It’s normally Hollyoaks, but when it’s on, it has to be Love Island.”
What’s the oldest thing in your fridge?
“Nothing, my sister has a weird OCD about fridges and she cleaned mine out a few days ago.”
Do you play any instruments or have any talents or hobbies?
“My hobbies are probably the gym and the occasional bike ride.”
Do you have any weird phobias?
“Yes, toilet seats! I can’t sit on them – public toilets, that is. I’m fine with m y own toilet – or touch them. EWWWWW!”
If you could choose only one superpower, what superpower would you choose?
“Invisibility, so I could listen to what people are talking about!”
