Meet the Team: Hannah Eastham, Centre Manager, Blackpool

07 Jul 2017 –– Staff

This week, in our Meet the Team series, we sat down to speak to Centre Manager of Business First's Blackpool business centre, Hannah Eastham, to find out a little bit more about who she is and what she does at Business First and beyond.

As always, we asked some serious questions, and some pretty daft ones, too...

What's your full name and job title?

"Hannah Eastham, I'm the Centre Manager of the Blackpool business centre."

Before working here, what's the most unusual or interesting job you've had?

"I used to work at Blackpool Zoo! That was pretty cool, really."

If you could swap jobs with one person in the company, who would it be and why?

"No-one, I love my centre, I love my tenants. I love my job!"

What three words do you think best describe Business First?

"Modern, competitive, community."

What three words do you think best describe you?

"Happy, helpful, ambitious."

What's the weirdest thing you've ever had to do whilst working here?

"I once had to help someone escape from a locked toilet cubicle they had managed to get stuck in, that was... interesting!"

What's the most challenging thing you've ever had to do whilst working here?

"The most challenging thing would probably be when I had to fill two whole floors when a big tenant went out of business and left the centre."

What's your favourite film quote?

"It's got to be the quote from Forrest Gump: 'Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're gonna get.' I love the film, and I think the quote is spot on."

What's your proudest moment at Business First?

"I'd have to say it was when Sarah [Fretwell, Director of Business First] congratulated me on the third anniversary of me working here, and thanked me for all my hard work. I was really proud that day."

What is an interesting, random fact about yourself?

"I'm also a make-up artist."

What has been your most embarrassing moment at work?

"This is easy. It has to be the day I split my dress when I was trying to clean up someone else's mess on the floor of my centre! That was horrifying."

What's your favourite place to travel to?

"Anywhere with plenty of culture. I'd probably say that South Africa is my favourite so far."

How do you define success?

"Happiness in your job, if you're waking up every morning and wanting to go to work, then, in my opinion, you're pretty successful!"

If a film was made of your life, who would you want to play you and why?

"It's got to be Megan Fox; because I wish I looked like her!"

If you could be any person in history for a day, who would it be and why?

"I'd be Marilyn Monroe - I love how she was an inspiration and a major icon for so many women of so many generations."

If you could interview any person in history, who would it be and why?

"Tom Hardy, to see if I could get a date."

If you could only drink one drink for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

"Fizzy Vimto Zero, I'm obsessed!"

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

"Spaghetti Bolognese, it's my absolute favourite."

If you could be any animal for a day, what animal would you be and why?

"Definitely a cat. They're so independent, yet so lazy and spoilt. Seems a pretty perfect life to me."

If you were stuck on a desert island and could only take three things with you, what would they be and why?

"Hahaha. Ok, it'd have to be mascara; because my eyes look like peas without it. Sun cream; so I don't fry. And clothes; for obvious reasons."

Tell us something about yourself that people would be surprised to know.

"I'm actually really soft and I like to cuddle teddies or pillows when I'm in bed, I can't sleep otherwise."

Tell us a little about you and your family

"My Mum is from Ecuador and my Dad sadly passed away when I was 14. He was from the UK. I have one sister, who is like my twin, despite the fact that there's a three year age gap between us."

Who is your idol?

"My Mum! Always. She has come from nothing and worked hard her entire life to bring us up and give us a good life. I'll always admire her!"

What is your guilty pleasure?

"Snickers and a glass of milk."

What's your favourite TV show?

"It's 'Hannah', there is one called that, and it isn't just because it's my name! I just love it."

What's the oldest thing in your fridge?

"Mayo."

Do you play any instruments or have any talents or hobbies?

"I play the keyboard. Haha. The only thing I'd call a hobby is going to the gym... when I make it."

If you could choose one superpower, and only one, what would it be?

"I would definitely be invisible! It would be so cool."
